Rating: Summary: An Interesting Book Review: I liked "Nothing but the Truth" because it shows how life life can is and how and what happens whens you show your respect to your countrie. I think that it is a prettygood book for studenets in middle school. I would recommonded it to most of my friends. But I think that Avi could of madethis book better by making the plot more exciting like if the 9th grader was suspended and him and his parents went tocourt about what happened to him. I think that Avi could make his books better by making the plot better. But all together I thought that "Nothing but the Truth" was prettygood.
Rating: Summary: You Can Only Hate It If You Wont To Review: I loved this book, I thought it could of had a better ending though but thats all. Some peaple in my 7th grade class hated it. To tell you the truth I think people hated it because they wonted to. I have read 2 of Avi's books and I liked both of them. I dont like to read a lot at all, matter of a fact I hate reading. So inorder for me to read a book I have to be very selective with the picking of one out. Now as you can see its very ware that I would like any book school gives to me to read. But I loved this one. It is a book that trouble makers can relate to. And the way the author gets you envolved is amazing. Like if your teacher askes you a question like Who is telling the story? You will have to think hard believe me. But most people might find this boring because it doesn't keep you on your toe's woundering whats going to happen next. I mean you don't know whats going to happen next but you wont be intersted enough to wont badly to know what will happen next. But over all its a good book you will love it.
Rating: Summary: A Good Book to Read Review: Nothing but the truth was a good book I gave it a 4 star rateing of it because some parts were boring but alot of it made me want to read more and more . Something I thought was mean but good was Mrs. Narwin kept telling phil to stop singing but I got the impression that he loves his country and wants to show it by singing the National Anthom . The best part that my friends and I liked was the end, the part where he was asked to be the leading singer and, then he started to cry because he did not know it.
Rating: Summary: Nothing But The Truth Review: I liked this book only because of the way the author set it up. I like how at one moment Phillip Malloy's parents are talking then all of the sudden Phillip is walking to the school bus. This is the most easiest book I have ever read.
Rating: Summary: It Was OK Review: This was not one of the best books I read. The topic of this book as wierd. I disliked it because it was about a boy named Phillip Malloy, who was suspended for humming the National Anthem. I would not recomend this book to anybody. Bu that is my opinion anyway.
Rating: Summary: Pretty Good Review: I think that this book should be rated a three. It was alright, not the best. I thought it was too chopped up and didn't flow very well. He changed the subject too much. The ending was kind of dumb. It didn't make much sence. Here, Philip was "fighting for patriotism" when he didn't even know the words to the nation's national anthem! If you are going to go through all of the trouble to write a book, you should at least make the ending good. "Nothing But The Truth" also had some good in it. I thought that it had some good lesswons to learn. You should stand up for what you believe in is one. Another is what really happens can be influenced by the media. For example, Philip's act of "patriosm" got the entire nation upset. Even though what they heard may not have been true, it satified them enough. Overall, I thought that this book was pretty good!
Rating: Summary: Nothing But The Truth Review: Avi's book was pretty good! I didn't like the ending too much. I also think it ended before it should have. Thats why I rated it a 3. I would have given it a 3.5 but that was not an option. The book was just starting to get very interesting, but then it ended. The end kept me very curious about what happened to Mrs. Narwin, Phillip, and all the other important characters in the book (such as the principal and vice principal). Otherwise it was pretty good, I did not want to stop while reading the book. I recommend if you have some extra money lying around (but only if you have extra money) to go check out the book, its pretty good!
Rating: Summary: NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH Review: I would give the book about a 3-star rating. I mean I really like it, but it was sort of boring. The reason for that is because of the long memos and letters that were either sent or being sent to teachers or the schoolboard. But I really like and thought was interesting was some of his conversation, the ones with his friends and in his diary entries. The part I don't like is how he tristed the truth into something that was somewhat not right at all. That seem to be the reason why he got in trouble the first place. Other than that the book seemed to be to me o.k.
Rating: Summary: Read and You'll Enjoy Review: I think that this was an excellent book. Avi's writing style in this book was truly captivating. The dialogue was very interesting. The way he put in bits about school and home life and the way the media effested the book in the school. I've never read a book like this before and I highly enjoyed it. Avi writes great books as far as I know from this book and you will know it to when you read this book. Read it you'll enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: Nothing But The Truth Review: The book of Nothing But the Truth, is about a fifteen year old boy named Philip Malloy was suspended for singing the National Anthem. It turned out to be the biggest disaster ever. It got all over the world and soon it tunred it sback on the teacher. The teacher was blammed for the doing. When Philip is finished with his suspension he goes back to school and it turns out that it turned its back on Philip this time so all of his classmates were on the teachers side know. Philip decides to go to another school when it time to sing the National Anthem in his new school he can not sing it. I think it could have been at least a little more exciting. I mean why would he just get suspended for a little thing like singing the National Anthem.
