Summary: The book was good. It wasn't bad. It wasn't great.
Review: This book had a great start, and it had a great middle. But it had the most horrible ending I have ever read. Phillip Malloy, just gets transfered. Nothing is resolved. Avi did a great job on building up the conflict. Then just leaves it, doesn't resolve it one bit, he still has the lie of the track team lingering, the lie of "singing" not "humming". Avi obvioiusly, when he thought of the book, didn't think of an ending. Horrible ending. But the beginning and middle were one of the best parts of any book I have ever read.

Summary: This was a great book I just couln't put down.
Review: This was one of the best boks I've ever read. I hated the main character, Philip Malloy, in the begining for how he sung our countries pride, our National Anthem, to get a transfer out of a teacher's Homeroom and English class. I just couldn't believe that someone could use our beloved National Anthem for such a thing. As the book progressed, however, Philip Malloy's suspension for singing the National Anthem recieved national news coverage. His conscience began to eat away at him. The Mass Media had written about him as the Posterboy of National Patriotism. Instead, he was a mischievious boy who couldn't care less about the Anthem or what it meant. As the book neared the end he was so ashamed of what he did he couldn't face his own classmates. By then my hatred had turn to pity. The book had changed from being a story about a boy's misuse of our National Anthem to a tradgedy about how he paid for it. I must reiterate. Nothing But The Truth was one of the best books I've ever read.

Summary: I thought that the book was well written.
Review: In this book the main character Philip Malloy gets in trouble with Miss Narwin for humming the national anthem in class. His English teacher Miss Narwin constantly told him to stop but he refused to do so. As a result of his lack of listening he was sent to the principals office. He was then suspended. Previous to this Philip had gotten a D in Miss Narwin's class; therefore causing him not to be able to participate on the track team. Philip's suspension turns into a big ordeal. The news of his susupension spread all accross the nation. In the end both Philip and Miss Narwin were losers. Philip got transferred to a school with no track team and Miss Narwin went out on leave. I think that overall Nothing but the Truth was a good book to read. I would recomend others to read this book. I think you might enjoy it too.

Summary: Nothing great!
Review: I had to read this book for summer reading. It didn't sound very good at first and I was right. The begining was ok but after that the plot of this book was pointless.I have no clue what message this book was tring to give at the end, run away from your problems! It also contained jokes that were not funny and they got very annoying. Some of the sentences in this book were not even complete! This is a poor piece of literature.

Summary: Some-what good , slightly interesting for young adult
Review: I was asked to read this book for summer reading in school. I love realistic fiction so i though i would like this book. The begenning and middle started off strong but the end was horrible. I was ready for a big lawsuit or some reslove for the novel however the end of the book presented no such thing

Summary: Kinda Boring, Kinda Good
Review: This book was kinda good, but it was pretty boring. i mean, i dont like how the author set up the book, making everything into a conversation. i like regular books better....you dont know how hard it is to write a book report on one big conversation!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A "must" read for all young adults.
Review: I teach junior high English and can't wait to have my students read the parts as if they were the characters. The ending is somewhat disappointing but can spark many writing activities. Warning to very conservative teacher's: contains two foul words. Students can handle it but make sure parents can. It is excellent to show that not all novels have a happy ending which is hard for some young readers to grasp.

Summary: An unrealistic story on a trivial topic!
Review: This book was pointless, on a meaningless topic. Page after page, I had to hold my eyelids open to keep from falling asleep. Furthermore, this book was not motivating. As a reader, I realize the importance of free speech. It is this reader's opinion that Avi, through Philip, chose a trivial topic to highlight the possible violation of his rights. In doing so, a teacher's career was changed forever. I am disappointed that Avi took such a simple conflict and, through his writing, has it lead to serious consequences. The play format did not help enhance this book, whatsoever.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: One of the best books I've read!
Review: This book was a nice change of pace from the regular reading curriculum. I thoroughly enjoyed the play format. Although the book told an intriguing story, I thought the wording was a tad elementary. What really kept me reading was the plot development. Avi's writing techniques were superior to any other author because he was able to capture my attention.
