Summary: It was a good book but not a great book.
Review: We believe that this book could of been more thought out and more developed. It was hard to follow. The memo's were fun to read but, got tiring after a couple of chapters. This book has a good plot but, a bad influence.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: It is okay, but it could use some improvements
Review: I think this book was rather monotonous. It only includes memos, phone calls, letters, conversations, etc.etc. What bothered me most was the format of most of the conversations. They were like plays, listing the name of each person as they spoke. This did help, tremendously, although I have to confer that this became annoying in a way. The reason I beleive this is because if you did read every name before that person spoke, it does become monotonous. However, if you didn't read the name of whatever person speaking, you're bound to get confused soon. I'm not trying to give anybody reading this the idea that the version of this book by AVI is a bad book. On the contrary its a good book if you can deal with the different kinds of dialogue in it. Another thing that makes me think, is the fact that the descriptions (if you consider them descriptions)are very vague and you have to almost create them in your mind. I know that this gets some people mad, some confused, and like me, some people like it. However, I'd like to know if AVI made the book like that purposly, so the reader could make the characters the way they want them. That is all I have to say.

Summary: it wasn't the best book we read but it wasn't the worst
Review: This book wasn't the best book I have ever read but it did however have a good plot and theme you just had to follow along. If your reading this book it's because your supposed to be able to follow it because your in 7th grade. I did not find it too hard to follow. it was a good book except for the ending. Based on what i have heard Avi could do better. It could have had a lot of detail and a different format but then you wouldn't have captured what the author was trying to tell you. In my point of view it's to show you that this is how we talk. If you think that the book was unrealistic and that nobody talkes that way, go back and think about yourself when you talk you will discover that you probably talk that way too. If you think its a stupid idea about a kid getting suspended for singing the national anthem, youll be surprised at the stupid things that kids do. Overall kids will get confused when they don't follow a book and will automatically say that they don't like but they have to look at it carefully and theyll probably understand that the book is not all that bad.

Summary: Needs more!
Review: This book consantly repeated itself. The same action was talked about over and over with no description. There was no description to the people, places or things. I like the idea, I really do, but it's hard to understand. I think that everyone would have some trouble understanding the plot to this story, because without description of the person, places or things the young adults would't care one way or another if the person dies or gets hurt. I know that if I wasn't required to read this book I would have been ready to through it in the trash. This book was built on a great idea, but with nothing but dialogue and memos it was used in the wrong way!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Okay, but it could be better.
Review: Why is it so hard to understand the book? I beleive that it is the format of the book that makes it so BORING! (YES I JUST USED THE FORBIDDEN WORD.)Avi needs to write more like Tom Clancey. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because it took some effort to write. I think Avi could do better. The plot is okay, although it could use more description. Buy it and see what you think.

Summary: Okay, but not the best
Review: The book got off to a good start, we didn't think it would be in that format throughout the whole book. The end was pathetic because boys are stereotyped not to cry and he cries like a baby. The memos and the letters between the principle and Mrs. Narwin weren't needed because they had absolutely no reason to be there. They had nothing to do with the conflict between Phillip and Mrs. Narwin, which was basically what the whole book was based on. It also had it's good points. It was kind of funny and most teenagers and/or young adults will probably be able to relate to Phillip's point of view.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The plot was hard to follow
Review: I thought there was no real plot. It was just people talking about a school incodent. This book was actually quiet boring.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: It was not that good.
Review: Nothing but the Truth is hard to get through to the reader because of the type of format they use for the conversations. It is written in a play format so it is pretty hard to understand you are having to go back and forth from the speaker and then what they say. It would be easier if it was in paragrach form. The reason I think that some of the people in my class did not like the book is because they are used to adult books that are more interesting. Another reason it is bad is because it is dumb how everyone gets on Phillip's side. Overall, it was not that good of a book.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: This book is okay, but not the best
Review: I believe that this book is okay. Some people think this book is difficult to read. I think this is true because they don't understand the plot. Just because the book has memos, telegrams, and newspapers doesn't make the book difficult. Also the book might need a little more description in the book. Just so I can get a feeling of what Philip looks like. Other than that, I would recommend this book to other young readers.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good but not great.
Review: The book was basicaly OK. The beginning was good, it had alot of mystery to it. The middle was Ok, not good or great. The excitement lowered alot. The end was juct out of line. It made no sense. Philip is known through out the nation, but people believe him when he says "I don't know the words."
