Rating: Summary: Pretty good. Review: I thought that this book was pretty good, but not as good as other books Tamora Pierce has written.Tamora Pierce is a great author, and I, for the most part, LOVE her books. This one did prove to be a little disappointing. It's got some cool magic and everything, but it wasn't as exciting as Alanna or Daine.
Rating: Summary: GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: Just like all of her other books, I loved this one just as much, even my friends loved it, and if they like it anyone will!!!!!!!! A MUST Read!!! For anyone who ever believed in went through a time and came out on the other side better than ever!!!!
Rating: Summary: Awsome beginning to an awsome series Review: I didn't expect Sandry's Book to be much, but after I started reading it, I couldn't stop! I luv the new characters (am I the only person who gets tired of the same people over and over?) and the new world. This book tells more about magic and mages, and shows different life styles, like the difference from a noble and a thief, or a trader and a merchant. In her other books, the main characters mostly were always with the upper class, but in this book it tells about everything. Now, about Sandry. I've read all the Circle of Magic books so far, and she's my favorite character. In this book she really ties them all together (if it weren't for her, Disipline would be chaos!) and even saves them all at the end. And she was the first one to figure out that Niko had brought them all to Winding Circle Temple. Ok, now the ONLY parts I didn't like, and its nothing big. Their ages. In Tamora's other quartets, the characters are more my age or older, but in this one, they seem to be a lot younger. And on the cover, it shows Sandry's craft to be water. But she has nothing to do with water! She's thread! But I suppose it would be strange to have a picture of thread for her! Thats all I have to say about the most awsome book ever! I hope they get older as the books continue (even though by the looks of it they won't). This is an awsome beginning to an awsome quartet!
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: When I first saw this book I didn't expect much, but after getting to about the 3rd chapter I saw that it was much more. With all the new characters with different personalities, it makes it a good change. And the new world is a good change too, because not everything happens in Tortall, like not everything happens in one country now. It shows how each of the characters had their own problems and struggles, but in the end, all work together to sort it out. This is a great book for a great quartet, and is a must read.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: I've read all of Tamora Pierce's books-except for Briar's Book, which hasn't come out yet-and I love them all! In my opinion, I think that Sandry's Book is one of her best yet! The world change was good-give Tamora a break, she needs a change once and a while. Everything can't happen in one country!-because it gives Tamora more to write about. And I like the character's personalities and differences. The ONE AND ONLY thing I don't like is their age. They're about 11 or younger years old and don't have all the conflicts and romance that Daine and Alanna had. But anyway, I love this quartet!
Rating: Summary: A opion Review: In the beginning it was very hard to follow this book. I felt that the author could have done a better job. After the first one-hundred pages of introductory and confusion this book begins to improve. The characters begin to have depth and there starts to have a point to the story. All in all I think that I would wait to buy it in paperback.
Rating: Summary: Glittery and shallow, rather disappointing Review: Tamora Pierce's books are always entertaining. For light reading, they may even be good. But, on the whole, I find her books very disappointing. No conflicts! The Magic series, from what I've read of it, seems to be based entirely on the idea that there are two kinds of people--those who never seriously quarrel and those who do. The quarreling side attacks the other and is thwarted. Is that any way to write a book? The fight always goes to her heros, and their emotions run about two inches deep--not at all stirring or leaving you wishing it hadn't ended. I read her Alanna series. Again, entertaining, but I thought it had to much adult subject matter. The plots and settings are basically fine--it's only the characters who need polishing. Monica Furlong--now there's an author. That woman can write!! Thanks for having a review option.
Rating: Summary: Okay, but not really what I'm looking for Review: First of all, I think we should give Tamora Pierce a break on her sudden world switch. She's entitled to a change after eight books, wouldn't you think?! But still, four characters is a little extreme for just one story. I'd rather focus on one main character than know very little about a group. Also I never got as close to Sandry, or Tris, or Daja or Briar than I did to Daine or Alanna. In order to be able to relate to a character, you have to know them a little better then we know the Circle of Magic crew. It wasn't horrendous, but it could sure use some work.
Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK ROCKS Review: This is such a good book. I also read Tris's book and I can't wait to read Daja's! I think Sandry and Brair should get together! THIS IS SO GOOD! Everyone should by this book. It's so interesting I couldn't put it down!
Rating: Summary: I really loved this book aust Review: this book is great i couldn't stop reading it although i miss tortall and Alanna and Daine. I want to find out what happened to Daine whether she married Numair or not. but the change was nice and geting to know a whole knew host of people.
