Rating: Summary: babbling man full of contradictions Review: The guy is an immigrant son, yet he is against immigration. The guy is against liberals, yet he attended the most liberal school in the nation (Berkeley). The guy brags about his education and uses that to legitimize his views on politics, yet his degrees are all medical related. The guy has not complimented one immigrant or colored person in the book, and has defended white people when they do something wrong. Michael Savage: America will never be what it was like in the '50s. You cannot stay the same in a changing world.
Rating: Summary: What a whiner! Review: I'm a foriegner working in the US for the last 5 years. As a non partisan observer, I have noticed that its always the conservative talk show hosts that are perennially whining about every thing. According to the likes of Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter and Savage its always "Conservative = Good, Liberal = Bad". Being a conservative myself, initially I tilted in their favour. But boy, do they ever stop whining and bitching!Savage is an altogether different breed. He successfully stepped over the line of common decency and openly advocates racism. I have been listening to his show for over an year now and I know for a fact that he's nothing but a con man masquerading as a conservative. I don't think his views would appeal to any one with a thinking brain. May be he appeals to the frustrated red neck ..., who want to blame someone else for their failures. Savage preaches that all their woes are caused by the immigrants from "[third] world nations" (his code for non-white countries). US is a great country. I appeal to all you Americans out there to realise how good you have it here and why you have it so good. Please keep America great. Do not encourage hate mongers like Savage to take over and turn your country into a hateful racist society,...
Rating: Summary: 'Wiener' Nation - That's his real last name Review: This book is for fools who are easily swayed by incendiary remarks and arguments. The popularity of this man is truly frightening. His rhetoric is absurdly entertaining. Yet, it is scary that many Americans truly believe 'the true & free of spin' political commentary, from a vitamin salesman [Wiener]and two college dropouts [Limbaugh and Hannity]. Fascism reigns in the Weiner Nation.
Rating: Summary: A great book if your a white supremacist Review: That this book has an audience at all is a very frightening thing...
Rating: Summary: Fun book. Review: This was a fun book to read. Very entertaining.
Rating: Summary: Hey liberals, read the book before reviewing it. Thanks. Review: Savage definitely hits you hard when you listen to him on the radio, but when you read about what he wants to but can't say on the radio, you're simply dumbfounded and shocked that the culture of the United States has dropped to such a low level in such an amazingly short amount of time. One of the fundamentals of Savage's life is to work for what you get. It's really that simple, and it absolutely disgusts him that people have the audacity to speak out and whine when, as he put it, "some brave senator suggests they start doing just a little community service." He absolutely blasts the welfare system, causing you to scowl in disgust whenever you submit your taxes so your hard-earned money can be whisked away to a fat, illegal immigrant who sits around on his couch all day, watching television, waiting for his next welfare check to roll in. Improving the quality of life for people of other nations, you say? What about OUR lives? Why do WE have to be the catch-all garbage bin for people from all over the third world who look for nothing more than a the free handout their immigrant relatives told them about? All the while trampling upon the American ideals of working for your living? THATS the reality of immigration. He touches upon many other sensitive subjects that the disgustingly sensitive leftist goes "Oh, my!" to. You often wonder why Mr. Savage sounds so angry during each of his radio broadcasts. Well, after completing this book, you'll be just as angry, if not homocidally furious over what the liberal plague is doing to our beloved nation. I strongly recommend you read this book immediately, left or right winger. If you're leftist, Savage will convert you. Right, Savage will reinforce your ideals. Furthermore: Just look at all these stupid liberals patrolling the Amazon book inventory, looking for conservative authors to bash without even actually reading their books. Seriously, look at the one-star reviews here. Do any of them actually mention specific excerpts from the book? No, because they didn't read it. They just dismiss Savage as an angry man trying to knock down the chamber door of ignorance and degeneration, because that's what liberalism is founded upon: Ignoring the voice of common sense. Michael Savage is the last bastion of patriotism. Give him the recognition he needs by passing word of this book to your friends, and maybe, just maybe, we can abolish the social infection that is liberalism once and for all.
Rating: Summary: comment Review: I do not think it is appropriate for people to voice their racist comments on this website. I will not buy any products from your company since you allow this kind of discussion to be posted. A book can be excellent whether one is a racist or not.
Rating: Summary: Some interesting points, but . . . Review: Reading this book is exactly like listening to the radio show; I even hear Savage's voice as I read. However, what makes for good radio doesn't necessarily translate into good literature. He lapses into a lot of unrelated tangents, such as a couple of pages concerning a letter he received about making meatball sandwiches. Many people will agree with the underlying logic behind his principles. Readers who doesn't completely subscribe to these beliefs themselves, though, are likely to be put off by the harsh sarcasm and often mean-spirited nicknames, such as "Turd World countries". While this book will appeal to the ultra-conservative, its belligerent tone may repel those with opposing viewpoints. While conservative myself, I was taken aback by his petulant name-calling and aggressive dismissal of many groups of people, be they political, ethnic, or cultural, and I did not find anything that would be helpful or useful in trying to "convert" others to a more conservative way of thinking. That being said, the book is entertaining and certainly interesting. For the most part, I found it necessary to regard it for its entertainment value only, because rather than going in-depth to make the case for his points, he only devotes 1-3 pages per topic. In ways it reads similar to stream-of-conscience fiction. There were also some misspellings, adding to the hurried, dashed-off feel of the book. Really it comes down to this: if you're extremely right-wing, you will love this book and probably memorize passages of it. If you're right-wing to moderate, you may agree with some of it but will be equally uncomfortable with it. If you're moderate to left-wing or beyond, don't bother; it will only serve to anger and disgust you.
Rating: Summary: From one conservative to another--Don't waste your money. Review: Let's face it: No one short of the far right of the political spectrum is going to buy this book. That means if you are viewing this page, you are a conservative, like me. The reaction of liberals to Michael Savage's outspoken and vitriolic brand of political and social commentary is predictable. Those of us leaning in the opposite direction might well agree with many of Savage's views and appreciate his biting and witty insights, but that does not make this doorstop of a book worth reading. Nothing written in these pages hasn't been hashed and rehashed on "The Savage Nation" a hundred times, and all of it loses a great deal in the translation from the radio to print. I can't describe how disappointed I was by this purchase. I didn't expect an intellectual journey, just an enjoyable and amusing one. I got neither.
Rating: Summary: A Great Book for Racists and Fascists Review: Take every myth and [tradition] you've ever heard about different ethnic groups and immigrants to the USA. Then, blame every problem facing the nation on those people and use the [traditions] to make illogical connections. That's what you get in this hate-filled book. Save your money!
