Rating: Summary: FOOD FOR THOUGHT AND SOUL! Review: Most of us haved love and lost someone close to us at some point in our lives. After I read this book, I was instantly reminded of that beautiful movie years ago, "Ghost" and the never-forgotten strains of "Unchained Melody." What is so terribly thought provoking is if we did have the opportunity to communicate with someone who has crossed over to another world, just one last time, what would we say? Perhaps many of us would say what we failed to say when that person was physically here with us. So, first of all, the book serves as a constant reminder to take nothing for granted; life is very short indeed. Each and every day, we have one last opportunity to tell those we care about just how much we love them - the chance may not be there tomorrow!I do believe there are those who truly do have psychic powers, but I also believe there are a great many "would-be, wanna-be's" who claim to be psychics when in reality they are not, and prey upon lonely, hurting, vulnerable people for financial gain. As one who has studied psychology, it is evident our mind, body and soul are closely interconnected. A second important aspect of the book is the author's adeptness at helping us understand we all have psychic abilities. Whether one believes in life after death is a personal belief. I do believe each of us has a purpose in life, our body is simply the vehicle that carries us through this life and to a better world thereafter, wherever that may be. Whether one is a believer of psychic powers or not, the book will remind the reader of how important it is, not necessarily to communicate to those whom we have loved and lost, but to communicate our feelings to those who are still with us and enrich our lives with endless love. May each of you be blessed in finding your own eternal happiness.
Rating: Summary: A Gifted Man With Sincerity, Humbleness and Humanity Review: I have discovered the John Edward's show "Crossing Over" when the SciFi Channel changed his scheduled time to an earlier hour this summer. I went into viewing the show highly Skeptical and something was tugging at me from a Religious standpoint. I was impressed enough with Mr. Edwards to purchase "One Last Time" and embark on reading the book. Through Mr. Edward's writing (and how he is in his television show)there is a keen sense of a man who carries forth a gift, honestly and sincerly. I personally found his "story" very interesting on how he became aware of his gift and how he worked to strengthen this gift. The reader doesn't feel like he is reading some flamboyant person to claiming to know all before it happens and flashing an #800 physic number to roll the person over, taking his/her money. Mr. Edwards could be anybody's neighbor who has been gifted and uses it in a way of connecting people with those people that have been lost to death over the years. The book also goes in depth to some of the readings he does. He takes the readers as close to what he is seeing and why he says what he does when he connects to the deceased person as he hold a session for a client as possible. During his readings, he shares the stories of those being connected, the joys, the sorrows, the comical sides of life past and the validation of what he is sharing. Mr. Edwards also speaks of his religion, Catholicism, the importance of prayer and views in several places of God. I have seen several hooey physics on television shows in guest spots who make all of these points as far and disconnected as an island to a mainland. My suggestion on this book would be if you are a viewer of "Crossing Over" and already know of Mr. Edwards and never read his book....buy it and I believe you will enjoy the book. It's an easy read and it reads as if Mr. Edwards is telling you his life story and then sharing (with permission) some of the more intriguing readings he has done. If you are a skeptic for whatever reason or not familiar with John Edwards, try the book with an open mind. The book doesn't cost very much and it's an easy read, so you really aren't out anything! I am eagerly awaiting his newest book coming out in August, "Crossing Over".
Rating: Summary: Insight on "How he does it" Review: I wanted to find out more about how John Edwards and how he does what he does. Many times we automatically discount the authenticity of mediums due to a lack of understanding. Not everyone can do what they have the ability to do which invites skepticism in our minds as to "this can't be real". This book gave me an insight on how John as a medium receives and translate images, sounds, smell etc. John's own skepticism is made very clear in this bookas as well. I now have a better understanding of what happens during his readings, why and how. If your interested in John Edwards, a "Crossing Over" fan, a skeptic or are just curious, this is a good choice! It should help bring a better understanding to the process.
