Rating: Summary: I like the television show better! Review: I am a pretty big fan of John Edward. But, for some reason I just can't get into any of his books. He uses the same comfortable delivery style that he uses in his television show -- but I just usually end up being bored to death.I don't think its the writing -- its me. I guess I just need the suspense of watching his readings visually. But even for a skeptic like me -- John Edward raises all the questions that you have wondered about since you were a child.
Rating: Summary: If you love Crossing Over....... Review: If you love Crossing Over, you will absolutely love this book. I watch the show every night. My only problem with the his show is it doesn't go deep enough... time constraints and all that. This book went where I wanted it to. It reveals John Edward as he is today, and how he got there. It also goes the distance in telling about some of his sessions. I am amazed by John, and his gifts. This book is especially comforting in a world of unpredictability... it lets us know that our love transcends our physical body and its limitations.
Rating: Summary: Just the beginning for John! Review: It's time we started understanding the psychic/ metaphysical world, and John Edward's book is definitely a great way to start. I thought the book was wonderful. It took courage to tell all the details of his journey of enlightenment as well as his fears that many religions might not approve. It was honest and sincere, and I enjoyed it. It got me hooked on reading all manner of books on this topic. Non-fiction books by Brian Weiss and Bruce Goldberg, as well as fiction books such as Speak of the Dead by H. Van Horne. I hope John continues to explore his gift and write more books!!!!
Rating: Summary: Hard to put down!!! Review: I am hooked! John Edward's book is an awesome read. I have watched his show, "Crossing Over" many times and I am still in awe. His book gives us additional information we don't see or hear on his show. I highly recommend getting this book if you have lost someone very dear to you. It will be you a sense of peace. John is a person of faith and he certainly has been given a "gift from God". This is my first book by John and certainly NOT my last!
Rating: Summary: MY LIFE'S BIGGEST INSPIRATION Review: Most all my life I have known that there was so much more to life and afterlife than I was taught while growing up. I saw things much differt than others. Somehow I have never feared death.John Edward and his book ONE LAST TIME helped me tie all the loose ends together. He explained piece by piece how we live and die with love always holding on, even from the other side. I do not have to hope there is life after death,I know it.Thank you John Edward, for all the comfort you have given to so many. For all those who think John isn't for real,I truly feel a loss for you.Thank you John. You have made my life a lot better.
Rating: Summary: Required Reading Review: I think everyone should read this book. I'm half tempted to give a copy to everyone on my Christmas list this year. I don't read very often, but I couldn't put this book down. It flowed very well and I liked the way each chapter was a different story, but that it was all tied together.
Rating: Summary: HOW GULLIBLE CAN HUMANS BE??? Review: Having seen Edward on Sci-fi one time and heard about him I decided to buy the book. I found him to be a good writer, but the problem is, HIS STORIES ARE TRANSPARENT FABRICATIONS. It is so evident how he sucks people into thinking he can actually talk to dead people and animals. How can anyone not see through his cold reading? (AND HE IS NOT EVEN THAT GOOD AT IT) SO... WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP BUYING THIS BOOK AND WATCHING HIM? Because his book and "readings" just reinforce what some people keep hoping will be true. MANY RECENT ARTICLES, INCLUDING ONE IN TIME, HAVE EXPOSED HIS DECEPTIONS. If you read his book with a CRITICAL MIND it's right there in front of you...ONE MORE SCAM.
Rating: Summary: Fun, entertaining, interesting, an important book for fans Review: If you're a fan of the Crossing Over show, like I am, this book is a must read. By explaining how John discovered that he had these abilities, is a very important part of the book for the skeptics and belivers alike. The case stories are just as entertaining as the TV show. A note to the skeptics who wrote reviews saying that this is a scam, and that it is pathetic for him to claim to communicate with pets who've passed over... how can you know it's impossible? If you have facts to prove that it's not real, put them forth, we'd all be interested to hear. But to make that statement just because it doesn't sound good to you personally doesn't hold any weight. The fact that the world was round sounded hard to believe at one point too, right? How does he come up with all these facts? Where does the information come from? There's some force at work here. If you believe that what can't be seen isn't there, go back to 2nd grade. I believe a valid question might be "how do we know he's really communicating with our loved ones and not just intuitively picking up on the relationship that exists between these souls?" He's obviously giving factual information which he personally can't know about all of the people he reads. It's source would be the only thing I'd question. But who of us can claim we know better, or know for a fact anything in the spiritual realm?
Rating: Summary: One Last Time is Great! Review: Having enjoyed his television program, I decided to purchase this book and couldn't put it down! Though John Edward's show is great, this book is even better! It is nothing like his show, but rather how he learned of his psychic abilities and shows us that those things we are chocking up to coincidence, may be real signs from those who have passed. I was an agnostic before reading this book. Afterall, the only true way anyone knows with absolute certainty that there is a God is to die, then those who have passed are the only ones who know the truth.
Rating: Summary: Not a skeptic, but why is Edward a Catholic? Review: With the recent passing of my mother, a friend gave me John Edward's book, maybe as a way to console me. What's wrong with this book is the usual case histories that so many books are made up of. I guess it's easy reading to convince the general public there's more to life than meets the eye. But one case history right after the other makes it a bit tedious and all the same. Also, the spirits only give clues that they are there, and identify themselves, but no spirits seem to have any profound, enlightening advise or insight into the hereafter. There are no words of wisdom so to speak. I wish John's spirits went a little deeper. I also wonder why Edward clings to his Catholicism when talking to spirits is considered a no-no as far as the church is concerned (even though he tries to justify his religion by giving examples of a priest and nun who are closet believers in spiritualism). All in all, Edward seems like a likeable guy with a lucrative business.
