Summary: Mmmmm
Review: Ok!! This is the book that started it all! I read this book in one night and it was the best reading as far as romance goes in a long time!! It set the president for purchasing and reading the others in the Dark Series. I truly loved it! 5 Stars all the way! Very good reading. Sexy, Senual, Strong Characters! Definately didn't want to put it down and I've re-read it at least three times more!

Grab this one and add it to your collection!

Summary: Excellent!
Review: I loved this book! It was excellent! Gregori was all that he was promised to be in the previous novels of this series. He was powerful and sexy. I was slightly disappointed that Raven and Mikhail made no appearance in this novel. Thankfully, Savannah and Gregori's story has a vivid life of its own. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, too.

Only one question: What is Gregori's last name? If it was mentioned, I missed it.

Summary: WONDERFULLY CARPATHIAN!
Review: If you ever read a Christine Feehan book you know this one will not disappoint you. If you have never read her books you have alot of catching up and better get started!! This one is about Gregori the strongest, the most knowledgeable and the most feared of Carpathians. His has lived longer than any carpathian and is very close to going over to the dark side if he doesn't collect his lifemate soon. Savannah is head strong and very independant. She doesn't want to settle down but Gregori cannot wait any longer. He is running out of time and forces are working against them. They need to overcome Savannahs fears quickly. Finally Gregori got his story!! A must read.

Summary: Gregori the Dark One & the Princess
Review: O.K. I read all the other books in the Series before I got to this one, which is the only reason I am giving it a 4. Don't get me wrong I loved it..but....Gregori was not quite the Mystical, Awe Inspiring, Most Feared-Immortal Creature I had built up in my mind over the period of reading the other books. (I admit he looked & acted like Duncan Macloud-Highlander in my fantasies.) Princess Savannah-was running around on her own & her father let her?? I found the story a little thin in that area since Carpathians protect their women at all costs. I also did not like the New Orleans setting. I think they should have gone to Vegas which would have tied into Savannah doing Magic. New Orleans just didn't seem to fit Gregori or Savannah. (Might have been perfect for a different couple)..Still this is one of the best books I have read when compared to other authors. Just not my favorite of Feehan's..which is Dark Prince-Savannah's Mommy& Daddy's story.

Summary: Fantastic! Best of the Series
Review: This was the first book by Christine Feehan that I had ever read. Technically, it is number two in the series but the book explains the characters well enough that you'll do just fine if you read this one first. I also think this is the best in the series because of the richly drawn characters. Every character was described in a way that made them seem real and you could understand why they behaved the way they did at the various turning points in the story. There is action, suspense, romance, and sadness in this book. You could say that there is a little something for everyone in the story. Probably the best thing that I can say is that after reading this book, I had to have everything ever written by this author. I haven't been disappointed yet. I don't think you will be either.

Summary: One you won't want to put down.
Review: This book had me spellbound from start to finish. The two main characters, Gregori & Savannah bring excitement into your house. A few times I even wished Capathian males were real. Imagine that! Christine Feehan is an artist when it comes to this type of writing. I cannot wait to see if she comes out with anymore of these type books. No one can go wrong in purchasing the Dark Series. You'll love them all!

Summary: No Magic Here!
Review: Since I've read nothing but glowing recommendations for Ms. Feehan's "Dark" series, I decided to try this book. I was barely 100 pages into it when I was overwhelmed by Gregori. He may be dark, dangerous and sexy but he was also overbearing, arrogant and violent. He was worse than a stalker, following her to the ends of the earth, using the powers of his mind to force her to do things "for her own good" and his violent first encounter with her completely went against my idea of romance. I've read "forced seductions" but to me this was all out rape. If she could have gotten to a police station and showed them the blood and bruises, I have no doubt this "hero" would be serving a life sentence! Sorry, no magic for me here.

Summary: A "magical" story
Review: I had the same feelings as Ketsia as I picked up this book. All of the previous books were so wonderful, but I had been waiting for Gregori's story and was really afraid Ms. Feehan would not be able to pull it off. Boy, was I wrong!

First things first - don't read this book if you are expecting a vampire tale a la Ann Rice or even Amanda Ashley - there are elements both of those types of stories in Feehan's books, but they really are their own genre. Vampire purists will not enjoy these stories, but if you like a book heavy on romance and intimacy, with a paranormal twist, you'll absolutely love Feehan. As purely escapist fiction, I rank the Dark series at the top of my list! Very much like J.D. Robb's Death series, these are characters who are larger than life and stories that will have you reading the books over and over.

I won't summarize the storyline, because the book reviews have already done it, and the overall plotline really isn't what makes these books anyway. The interplay between Gregori and Savannah is the focus, as each comes to terms with living in the other's world. Gregori rivals Robb's Rourke as male perfection - no woman (or reader) could resist either of them, and it's so moving to read of him finally discovering his emotions again; Savannah is one of Feehan's better heroines, feisty and strong, much like her mother Raven.

If you decide to read this series, it really does help to begin with the first book, Dark Prince, and work your way through them in order (Dark Gold was my least favorite, and pretty much could be skipped). It builds familiarity with the characters, and in each of the books you'll find glimpses of all the Carpathians that help flesh out the characters - when you do finally get to Gregori's story, it will be much sweeter for having met him in earlier books.

I'm already anxiously awaiting Julian's story in November (the first chapter hints that maybe his lifemate is someone very close to Gregori), and hope Feehan continues the series for a long time.

Summary: Christine Feehan has triumphed again!
Review: Christine has proven once again that she stands in a class of very rare writers. Very few writers can put out books that are consistent page turners, especially (gasp!) sequels, and each of her four in the "Dark" books have definitely been page turner, 'don't you dare put me down' books. If you have not read her previous books, don't despair, this book stands alone (making breif references to the previous three).

This is the story of Gregori, known as the 'Dark One' to his people, who is probably the strongest of his kind, though there is some question as to whether Mikhail from "Dark Prince" is actually stronger. It is also the story of Savannah, daughter of Mikhail and his lifemate Raven. This story shows the power of love, the power of sacrifice, and the power of the Carpathians (who become vampires if they succumb to evil).

Gregori, the healer and the hunter, has a rigid code of honor which he believes that he has compromised in manipulating things so that Savannah becomes his lifemate. He believes that he has obtained her unfairly and it colors his perception of her through much of the book. Only when Savannah stands up to him and teaches him what love, trust, and laughter are about does he begin the long road back to the light.

Maybe I have a warped sense of humor, but I would love to see a scene where Mikhail and Gregori meet again. I would imagine it would be quite amusing when Gregori, who is not much younger than Mikhail, now has Mikhail for a "father-in-law" ;-D .

This book is highly recommended and a keeper. I would highly suggest it for all those who read paranormal romance.

Summary: Sensual, explosive, passion, funny
Review: This book by Feehan is truly an extraordinary work of art base on the paranormal. This is the first book i read from her Dark series and i couldn't put it down until i finished it. It's very different from a typical vampire book where the undead is aftere the heroine. Feehan wrote this book with an abundance of explosive sensuality, passion, pain and love. The two characters are well written and explode of the page fighting for love and showing that there way of life is better than humans. There is some violence were the hero fights for his mate against vampires but the book is about relationship and overcoming obstacles. You will love Gregory and Savanna the two heroes. It receives 41/2 stars from me only because i wanted more interaction between the two heroes and there was a lot of explaining of the history of the series. But, nevertheless, i guarantee you wont put this book down and you'll run out to by the other series which were exquisitive in their own right but can't touch Dark Magic. I recommend reading Dark Prince, Dark Desire, Dark Gold and Dark Magic in that order. I can't waiting to get Dark Challenge coming out in November 2000.
