Summary: NoT sO gOoD
Review: I think that this book has a kind of boring plot. It moved slow and was hard for me to follow. I never thought it would pick up and get to the main idea. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

Summary: I'm Yawning
Review: This book was sorta boring. The main idea was that he did not know the words at the end, an that was stupid. He's a big fat liar that won't admit anything. He should have told the truth in the first place, and should have said sorry to Mrs. Narwin.

Summary: I Loved this book!!!!!!
Review: I loved this book it was my favorite book that I have ever read! My favorite part is when he tells his new teacher that he don't know any of the words of the "Star Spangled Banner". It was so funny! He went through all that trouble for nothing. ...

Summary: I Liked It, NOT
Review: This book is not good. It came in totally different orders. It was very confusing. It tells how the truth is changed around very easily, and it hurts peoples feelings. And you really couldn't get to the point, I mean you just got jumbled around and got lost and mixed up. I've never read one of Avi's books, until now, and I probably never ever read one of his books again.

Summary: RE: nothing but the truth review
Review: I agree with you that this book is good for groups because you can switch off and on really easy because of the way Avi wrote the book. What I am saying is that it could be easily acted out to be a play. I personally didn't like the book because you wouldn't get suspended for humming "The Star Spangled Banner". I thought it was pointless, unrealistic and boring.

Summary: Nothing But the most boring book...
Review: A very unrealistic and exaggerated novel, Nothing But the Truth only makes you want to put the book down. The documentary format was a decent way to make a very bad story line a bit better, so I give Avi credit for that (a 2). However, all the incidents with Philip being sent to the Assistant Principal's office and the reporter not even checking her sources very well give the story a false and fake feeling. The people in the book all are for the most part unfeeling and selfish; using this incident with Philip as something to get what they want. I don't recommend this book at all.

Summary: This book was horrible
Review: Usually, as an author, Avi writes decent books. Then, I had to read Nothing But the Truth for summer reading entering 8th grade. Usually I don't mind summer reading because I love to read. But this book was horrible...Nothing But The Truth made me lose all respect for Avi's writing. The plot was pointless....it was a lazy disgrace. I think maybe Avi wrote this book in a hurry because it seems like there was little or no thought put into the storyline or moral. The writing is horrible too, there is no complex vocabulary or sentences at all...the writing was similar to one of my little sisters 60 page books. This book was horrible and i certainly do not recommend it.

Summary: The Worst Book I've Ever Read
Review: We had to read this book for school last year and I just have to say I hated it. The plot itself was pretty dumb and the ending was even worse. I liked the style Avi wrote in but the book was a major disappointment. I haven't read anything by Avi since. Now really, what school would suspend a kid for humming The National Anthem? I've yet to read a book i school that I actually like but this was by far the worst of them all.

Summary: Everything but the truth
Review: Unfortunately for Philip Malloy, the main character, everything but the truth seems work against him as he attempts to navigate the rough waters of life at Harrison High School. By March of his freshman year, Philip thinks he has mastered high school: he?s got the attention of the girls, a spot on the track team, and the reputation as a jokester with his classmates. His only problem is his English teacher, Miss Narwin, who doesn?t appreciate these traits and that, in Philip?s eyes, becomes the reason for his ensuing troubles with everyone he encounters. A sober, unflinching look at the bureaucratic finger-pointing of school boards and administrators, coupled with well-meaning but ultimately ineffectual parents, makes this book valuable for not just the young teen audience, but for parents and educators as well. Written in a terse "documentary novel" style, Nothing But the Truth unveils the hypocrisies of long-held beliefs and traditions when they are confronted by life?s often unpleasant realities.

Summary: nothing but the turth
Review: Nothing But The Truth, by AVI. This book is about a kid named Phil that gets in trouble at Harrison High School for singing the National Anthem in Miss Narwins class. He got a two-day suspension Phil dad tells Mr. Griffen a school board member about what happened who then to Phil and he tells a reporter about it. Phil tells the reporter his side of the story and chooses only to print Philip's reasons of the truth.

I rate this book a 6. I thought it was pretty good. There were a few parts of the book I didn't like. I didn't like how Philip got suspended from school for singing the National Anthem

I really like this book. I think it was really good. Philip did the right thing by expressing his feeling towards the national anthem. I liked how Philip took what was coming to him. He didn't argue about it at all. I like how the reporter wrote about Philip's suspension

I thought that part of this book wasn't very good. I thought that when Miss Narwin told Phil to stop singing. I thought that Phil's suspension shouldn't have happened. I also thought that the reporter shouldn't have got involved in phi's problem and that she went way to far because people from all over are hearing about this and Miss Narwin might get fired because of this.
